• Platelet Recovery % at 0 hours = 71%
• Platelet Recovery % at 4 Hours = 70%
• pH at 0 hours = 6.86
• pH at 4 Hours = 6.85
• Platelet Activation (p-Selectin) resting at 0 hours= 6.7%
• Platelet Activation (p-Selectin) resting at 4 Hours = 7.2%
• Platelet Aggregation at 0 hours = 88%
• Platelet Aggregation at 4 Hours = 86%
• HCT at 0 hours = 24.5 %
• HCT at 4 Hours = 24.4%

Is the Centrepid™ System FDA approved?

Yes.  The Centrepid™ PC Kit is indicated for the rapid preparation of autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from a small sample of blood at the patient’s point of care. The PRP is mixed with autograft and/or allograft bone prior to the application to a bony defect for improving handling characteristics of the graft.

The Centrepid™ PC Kit is one of the first PRP devices to go through the FDA’s Center of Biologics and Research (CBER) for approval as a Class II device. This is a much more rigorous approval pathway within the FDA system than many prior devices were subjected to. Please refer to the FDA website for additional information.

What items do I need to purchase separately?

You will need to purchase medical-grade ACD-A Anticoagulant, and depending on your application, you may need a phlebotomy kit and applicators for the PRP.

Can I use Centrepid™ with other centrifuge machines?

There is no reason that any centrifuge capable of 1900rcf with a soft braking feature will not work with the Centrepid™ PC.  The Centrepid™ holder should support the Centrepid™ securely in most 85ml, flat bottom centrifuge buckets.  It is important to remember that the Relative Centrifugal Force (RCF) is not the same for every centrifuge at the same speed (RPM).  The RCF is a function of the speed and radius (RCF or G-force = 1.12  x  R  x  (RPM/1000)²).
